A 10-minute walk from Kami-Suwa Station, ReBuilding Center Japan (commonly known as “Ribisen”) is an establishment with shops and cafes selling old wood, furniture, and secondhand tools.
Ribisen “rescues” old materials from buildings that are to be demolished and cleanup sites, and sells the various gathered items.

Their staff travel to sites located within an hour by car to conduct their main rescue operations.
The tools used by the inhabitants of the area and the materials for the walls and floors of the buildings they have lived in are rescued along with the history spent with their owners. Ribisen is a place where these rescued “local resources” are stocked.

Ribisen also suggests design ideas for spaces and furniture using these resources.
In this way, they provide many people with more opportunities to actually interact with spaces utilizing old materials, and play a role in disseminating such materials.

The first floor is a cafe and a space containing old materials, and the second and third floors are lined with secondhand tools including chairs, desks, and fittings.
Come search for a one-of-a-kind encounter while closely interacting with the items used by people in the area.
